Monopoly Go just dropped this ad thing, right? It’s all, like, sitcom-y and kind of reminds me of those good old family fights over the board. They’re calling it The Dice Life, which sounds way more dramatic than necessary, if you ask me.
Anyway, they’ve pulled in Will Ferrell to voice Mr. Monopoly. Yeah, remember Elf guy? He’s doing this whole thing with a bunch of quirky 90s TV scenes.
So, yeah, found out from The Drum — never heard of them, but whatever — that Omelet, some creative agency, worked with the game’s developers, Scopely. It’s basically a big nostalgia trip with a cheesy theme song, probably stuck in your head by the end.
Oh, and speaking of nostalgia, Jake Johnson from New Girl and Sunita Mani from Glow pop up in the ads. It’s all short clips, but totally nails that family game night melodrama, right? If you’ve argued over Monopoly money, you’ll get it.
Then there’s this whole other part where Monopoly Go is doing some Marvel crossover with the new Fantastic Four stuff. Happens July 13th, apparently. So, get ready for superheroes mixed with board games—super random.
They’ve got all these new mini-games and events, plus a new Partners Event (does anyone know what that even means?). And, yeah, still waiting on news for the next Treasures Event. Last one was end of June, so tick-tock, Monopoly.
And—almost forgot—you can grab some free Dice Links for July if you’re into that sort of thing.
Anyway, dice and drama and superheroes—seems like Monopoly Go’s summer lineup is packed.
