Wow, so PlayStation’s got this whole Next Level Savings thing going on, and there’s this big nod to indie games. They’re slashing prices like crazy, with some games up to, like, 75% off. And seriously, they’ve got some horror game in there that people swear is nightmare-level scary. Yeah, that one.

So, get this. Outlast? Just five bucks on the PS Store right now. Yeah, normally it’s twenty, so that’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. But you gotta move fast because it’s like a pumpkin at midnight — poof, gone after May 29 at 2:59 a.m. ET. Like, who even made these rules? Midnight snacks, mystery sales end times — same vibe.
Okay, so the game’s set in Colorado. In some spooky asylum called Mount Massive. They say it’s out in the boonies, which obviously means trouble in horror-speak. It used to house the mentally ill and now it’s got the Murkoff Corporation’s fingerprints all over it, trying to act all secretive. Of course, it’s abandoned. Or is it?
Miles Upshur, the journalist — sounds like a name you’d see in a 90s detective show, doesn’t it? — goes sneaking in there after getting a sketchy tip. And honestly, I’d love to know where these characters get their courage (or lack of it). Anyway, once he gets inside, cue a twisted dance between science, religion, and whatever else creeps in the dark. I mean, am I selling this right? Or is it selling itself?
And if you’re all about those extra chills, there’s the Whistleblower DLC for those who can’t get enough of “nope” moments. Not on sale, but for $8.99, it’s like the cherry on a haunting sundae. So, altogether, we’re talking about spending roughly $13.98 for a scare fest duo. Maybe a bit more than lunch money, less than therapy.
Oh, and critics? They were all over Outlast back when it hit the scene in 2013. Metacritic slapped it with an 80 based on a boatload of reviews. And let’s face it, when you get that many thumbs up, you’re doing something right. Or wrong, depending on how scary you like your evenings.
There you have it, skedaddle over to the PS Store if you’re up for some of that spine-tingling action.
