Alright, so picture this—I’m chilling with my usual obsessions and all of a sudden, bam! My newest fix: this Netflix gem, KPop Demon Hunters, somehow mixes with my old flame, Star Wars. Sounds wild, right? I mean, seriously, how are Cal Kestis and crew from Star Wars even in the same universe as Rumi and the gang from HUNTR/X? You’d think I was losing it.
Turns out, they’re all about fighting bad guys while looking absolutely fabulous. Who would’ve thought?
Anyway, there’s this super slick video from AnimatedJen. If you’re into starting your day with something that just screams awesome, this is your jam. I promise.
So here’s the scene—with the HUNTR/X tune, “How It’s Done,” going off in the background, Cal Kestis, Bode Akuna, and Nightsister Merrin are taking on Empire goons like it’s a dance-off. Imagine them slashing through baddies—not quite falling from a plane, but trust me, their moves are out of this world.
“You want some more? Cal, I think they want some more,” Bode goes, and just like that, Cal’s kicking some shoretrooper butt. And Bode? He’s jetpacking in to deliver a knockout punch. Then Merrin twirls her staff with flair, and oh boy, the hype is real, and there’s still, what, a minute to go?
AnimatedJen’s channel is a treasure. I’m hooked on how much heart and story they weave into Cal’s adventures. (Cal as an Inquisitor in an alternate universe? Heck yes!) Jedi games are all the rage, and everyone’s hoping these characters jump to live-action someday.
But honestly, one of the best bits about Star Wars is seeing fans add their own twist to it. Sure, it’s a long shot that Cal, Merrin, and ugh, Bode (he knows what he did) would ever use K-Pop powers to smite stormtroopers. But it could totally happen, right? Who’s stopping them? No one!
I’m dubbing the squad MANT/S from now on. Does this make Cere Junda their manager? Someone needs to pen this story for AO3, just for me. Oh, and modders, if you can whip up these outfits, you’ll be my heroes.
Meanwhile, catch me replaying Jedi: Fallen Order, blasting “Takedown,” and slicing through the Empire’s finest. Life’s good like that.
