Oh man, today’s the day, right? The big Honkai: Star Rail thing everyone’s been buzzing about. Been hearing whispers about this Fate/stay night collab for a while. So, yeah, it’s like Christmas morning for RPG fans, just with less snow and more digital swords.
Anyway, last week or so they dropped patch 3.4. And it’s more than just a visual update, y’know? Like, they packed in a ton more than just the usual tweaks. Some wild stuff.
By the way, I remember a livestream from June, blurring in my memory, where they gave a sneak peek. Lots of hype for these guest characters from the Fate series. People are pumped.
Speaking of which, let’s talk characters. There’s Saber, swooping in as this 5-Star Wind/Destruction type. Then there’s Archer—also 5-Star but with Quantum/Hunt flavor. Free Archer for logging in during the event; nice, right? But for Saber, you gotta try your luck. Oh, and Archer comes with some level-up goodies too. Not too shabby.
Right, nearly forgot. The collaboration’s sticking around, though nobody’s sure how long. November, maybe? Who knows, these things have a way of stretching out forever.
Oh! Banners! Saber and Archer getting their own special ones. But here’s the twist: no boosted rates for 4-stars on these. Kind of a gamble, but with a promise—Saber’s light cone after 200 warps.
Another curveball: No English voices for these Fate characters. A bit odd given MiHoYo’s stance on SAG-AFTRA stuff. Wonder if that’s just part of the plan or, I dunno, a happy accident?
Jumping ahead, there’s a Trailblaze Continuance dubbed Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail. Plus, this limited-time battle thing until August 11. Exclusive stuff up for grabs there. Some of it sticks around in what they call Conventional Memoir eventually but heads-up, a few rewards will vanish into the ether if you snooze.
Oh, got sidetracked. Earlier, new characters joined the squad—not from Fate though. Phainon, who’s been around the block in Honkai: Star Rail, finally stepping into the spotlight as playable. A 5-Star Physical/Destruction kind of hero.
With 3.4’s arrival, Phase 1 of reruns brought back faces like Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle. Phase 2? Kicks in July 23, marking Firefly’s return. She’s got this fancy new outfit, plus Jingliu and Blade making a comeback.
Almost slipped my mind—updates to Kafka, Silver Wolf, and Blade. They’re packing some new mechanics now. Jingliu’s return coming at a sweet spot with her revamped kit. Busy times, huh?
