NVIDIA & AMD Expected to Release “Mid-Tier” GPUs in May: Possible GeForce RTX 5060 8GB & Radeon RX 9060 XT Models

NVIDIA and AMD are gearing up to debut their affordable GPUs this May, setting the stage for a showdown in the mainstream market.

In the realm of budget-friendly GPUs, options have been quite limited. Recent releases, particularly from NVIDIA, have seen stock shortages, driving prices above MSRP. Similarly, AMD’s RX 9070 series is in high demand, making it rare to find them at the suggested retail price. However, there’s good news. Both NVIDIA and AMD are reportedly launching new GPUs for mainstream users soon, according to Benchlife.

Starting with NVIDIA, expect the GeForce RTX 5060 by May 19. The specs include 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, running at 28 Gbps on a 128-bit memory bus. Notably, the RTX 5060 will consume more power, with a 35W TDP increase from the RTX 4060. Here’s where it stands compared to its predecessor:

This GPU features the Navi 44 die with a 128-bit bus and comes in 8GB and 16GB variants, similar to NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti. The RX 9060 XT boasts 2,048 SPs—half of the RX 9070 XT—with game clocks set at 2620 MHz and boost clocks reaching 3230 MHz, promising strong performance for 1080p/2K gaming.
