Okay, so here’s the thing. Just ahead of the big game release—they call it MindsEye—the folks over at Build a Rocket Boy, or BARB if you’re into shorter names, have seen two big wigs walk out the door. Not ideal timing, huh?
First, we have Riley Graebner, who was doing all things legal over there. Saw this blip on LinkedIn—shoutout to the sleuths at Eurogamer for catching it. Anyway, Riley wrote this whole goodbye note, mentioning how proud he is of what they’ve done. They’ve beefed up their team to over 450 people. That’s, like, a lot of name tags. Also, they tinkered with launching stuff globally. All this while setting up some legal wizardry from scratch. Exhausting, right?
He’s off to do something mysterious now. Or maybe it’s a vacation? He’s in “stealth mode,” he says. Sounds like a plot twist in a spy movie, if you ask me.
Then there’s Paul Bland—he’s the guy counting pennies, or dollars, whatever. Two years and poof, he’s out too. What’s that about?
And yeah, sure, people leave jobs all the time, but when you’re gearing up for a new game, it feels a bit like the calm before something—not sure if it’s a storm or a drizzle yet.
Oh, and co-CEO Mark Gerhard threw out this wild claim. He said someone’s paying to trash-talk MindsEye. No receipts were shown, so who knows? It’s like accusing your dog of eating your homework without catching him in the act. Odd, right?
Anyway—wait, what was I saying? Oh yeah, this MindsEye launch. It’s all very up in the air, jittery vibes. Let’s see where it lands.
