Okay, so here’s the thing. I sat down to play Elden Ring Nightreign on my Xbox Series X/S, expecting epic battles and probably some mild frustration, because, well, isn’t that what we sign up for? But then—boom—connection issues. Yeah, I thought maybe it was just one of those days where the universe has other plans for me. But no. Went online, and apparently, I wasn’t alone. Loads of people are screaming into the void about this, even after the recent patch.
I should probably mention that Elden Ring Nightreign, when it works, is a wild ride. I mean, it’s FromSoftware doing what they do best with a twist—roguelike co-op set in the Elden Ring universe. Fight bosses. Die a lot. Nothing new, right? Except it is, kinda. Reviews mostly say it’s awesome for folks who dig Soulslike games, and it’s got a solid score on OpenCritic.
But oh boy, Xbox users aren’t having the time of their lives. Some folks installed that shiny new patch, probably expecting miracles, only to find out they still can’t get past the loading screen or whatever. It’s like trying to invite your buddy for a fun night of misery, but the universe is like, “Nah, not today.”
So yeah, people are actually returning the game. Can you believe it? Refund city. Like, sure, some might just not be clicking with the game, but c’mon—when you wanna toss your controller around because you can’t even connect? I kinda get it. Plus, some players are saying it’s just too hard or the balance is all over the place. Typical, I guess.
Ah, before I forget—amid all this chaos, the game sold over 2 million copies super fast. Maybe the Elden Ring name carries enough clout to overshadow the bumps on the road. Or maybe people just love a challenge. Who knows?
Anyway, I’m off to see if I can get past the login screen again. Or maybe I’ll just, you know, find a new hobby in the meantime.
