Man, you ever get so obsessed with a game that you lose track of time? Well, that’s kinda what happened with Dysmantle. Apparently, this survival game — if you can even call it that, I mean it’s more of a hide-and-seek monstrosity — has sold over two million copies. Wild, right?
Here’s the scoop: It’s by this developer, 10tons. No, not like actual tons, but that’s their name. They shared the news that they’ve hit this big sales number over the past 40-ish months. I guess technically it started back in November 2021 when they officially launched — but it was simmering in Early Access a year before that. A boiling pot of gaming fun, if you will. And they didn’t play favorites, oh no, it’s out there on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, iOS, Android… basically anything with a screen, I guess.
Here’s a weird thing though — they didn’t spill the beans on which platform is the biggest hit. Wouldn’t you just love to know? Or maybe it’s just me and my need to know all the useless data. Anyway, they’re so hyped about hitting this sales milestone that they’re dropping a fresh physical version for PS5 and Switch. June 27th if you’re marking your calendar or whatever.
So, Sampo Töyssy — yeah, that’s a real name — he’s the co-founder and vice-CEO of 10tons. He popped in to say a big ol’ thanks to the fans, throwing love all around. He did say it’s sort of bittersweet because they can’t confirm a US release due to, like, mystery reasons. Maybe aliens? Who knows. But hey, they’re hoping everyone who wants it can still snag a copy. So there you go, my friends. Two million copies and counting. Guess there’s no stopping this dysmantling train. Exciting stuff, right?
