Weapon Wishlist for E-Day Return

Okay, so there’s this new Gears of War prequel dropping in 2026. Gears of War: E-Day. Set way back, like 14 years before we even meet Marcus and Dom for the first time. We’re talking serious throwback to Emergence Day. Oddly specific, but whatever.

Anyway, they’re hinting it’ll kick off with the Locust coming up from underground, as they do, and Marcus and Dom are right there, watching the chaos unfold. Pretty wild, right? But here’s the thing – we know next to nothing about E-Day, except that we’ll be armed with the Retro Lancer and… yeah, that’s about it.

So, there’s this one trailer floating around. You’ve got Marcus battling one of those nasty Locust Drones amidst the madness on Kalona’s streets. It’s all epic and dramatic – like, if explosions had explosions, you feel me? The Coalition teased us with that Retro Lancer. I mean, E-Day is way back in the timeline, so don’t expect too many fancy new weapons, but hey, maybe we’ll see some old favorites.

Speaking of old favorites – what about those classic COG weapons, huh? We’re hoping to see the usual suspects: Gnasher Shotgun, Snub Pistol, and maybe the epic Vulcan Gatling Gun? Oh man, I get chills just thinking about it. Imagine mowing down Locust with that baby again!

Now, I’m thinking – what about the Locust arsenal? It’s, like, gotta be stacked, right? With them being underground forever, fighting those weird Lambent creatures and all. I bet my collection of Boomshots they’re bringing back the Torque Bow and Boltok Pistol. Seriously, those Locust know how to weaponize, even if it feels like they pulled some of those weapons out of a bad dream.

And oh, the UIR weapons. Forgot about those? Don’t sweat it; they might pop up too. Pendulum Wars vibes, perhaps? I’d love to see the Booshka Grenade Launcher back in action. Maybe it’s just me, but the Hammer of Dawn – now that’s a sight to see. Glorious!

But hey, let’s not get carried away. At this rate, we might just have to wait for more leaks or announcements. Or, who knows? I could be all wrong, and they’ll surprise us with something completely nuts. Not holding my breath, but fingers crossed.
