I’m on it! Here goes nothing—

So, you know how sometimes you notice the weirdest details? Like, I was just mindlessly watching this Helldivers 2 trailer, and bam. The skulls on the shoulderpads totally different from what you see in-game. Not even kidding.
Picture this: February 8, 2024. Helldivers 2 drops, dragging you into this crazy fight for Super Earth. Everyone’s laughing at the trailer, but it sells like hotcakes. Fastest-ever for PlayStation, believe it or not. Anyway—wait, where was I?
Oh, right. Some eagle-eyed fan, username O_2og or something, spots this oddity. Posts on Reddit about how the skull logo on the soldier’s armor in the trailer is larger. And also, how the eyes are rounder, the nose is tiny, and the top of the noggin looks like it’s gonna poke someone’s eye out. Stuff like that. Crazy attention to detail, right? But I get it; little things matter. Or do they? Eh, moving on.
Who even knows why these differences exist? Maybe someone made the in-game model first and then went, “Oops, too small.” Or maybe the trailer peeps thought, “Let’s make it bigger!” and just never synced up. You know how these things are—outsourced trailers versus in-house game devs. Or not?
The reactions are pure gold, though. People on the Reddit thread are cracking jokes like these aren’t “real Helldiver armor”—whatever that even means. Some say it makes the game “literally unplayable.” I chuckled. But is it really that big of a deal? Maybe yes, maybe no. Depends who you ask.
So, here’s the thing. Helldivers 2 is jumping over to Xbox Series X|S soon—August 26 or something—complete with crossplay. Meaning more people, more fun, right? Honestly, now’s the time to jump in, skull size discrepancies be darned. Join up and help Super Earth survive. Or just notice a million other tiny details. Up to you.
Okay, where was I going with this? Who knows. But it’s there, and it’s something to think about, right?
