Apple’s Latest Daily Puzzle Game Brings an Emoji Twist to Wordle

It’s World Emoji Day… and Apple? Yeah, they’re jumping into the mix with this funky new game on their Apple News+ thingy for folks in the U.S. and Canada. It’s called, uh, Emoji Game. Basically, you drag little pictures (emojis, duh) into blanks to make words or phrases. Pretty wild, right?

So, Apple cooked this up in-house. It’s like their fifth puzzle game now or something. You’ve got your Sudoku, some crosswords, and this oddball thing called Quartiles from last year. But Emoji Game? It’s got this iOS vibe, you know?

Let me try explaining… Every day you’ve got these puzzles – six words or phrases to crack. Emojis pop up for you to use. Like, if the hint is Disap_ _ _ _, and there’s a pear emoji, you drag that baby into the gaps, boom, Disappear. Makes sense? A bit like Blue Prince — if you catch my drift. One emoji can mean tons of stuff. That pear? It’s not just a fruit, it’s a vibe.

Things get spicy with multi-word puzzles – more brainwork needed. Like, needing to solve something like _ _ _ _ _ _ Year _ _ _ k using, say, a fish and ghost emoji. You put the ghost in “year” to make Yearbook (ghost does “boo” – get it?), fish turns into “school” – like a school of fish. Final answer? School yearbook.
